Neither of my own favourites was in the list – had to vote ‘Other’!
fwiw I find Fluxbox amazingly configurable, fast and very light – spent several happy years with it and am now with Enlightenment (E17) having found a distro that manages to use it to best advantage – Bodhi Linux.
The thing that has surprised me most about running Bodhi alongside Ubuntu Lucid is that Bodhi has been (fractionally) the more stable of the two – about the same as Xubuntu Lucid – as well as allowing me to boot it on our collection of ancient hardware – P3-700 at 350MHz with 256MB RAM with slidey-window bling and fading menus. Hard to believe, but true. A full-on desktop that reports it is using 60MB of RAM in Conky, just amazing.

Sorry BigBen, E17 and Fluxbox are both great. Unfortunately or luckily Linux has probably 50 or more different DEs and WMs and they wouldn’t fit on the same poll. Also some of them are specialized for some things and I wouldn’t like to compare apples and pears. But I could squeeze E17 in but it’s not fair to do it now. I’ll do “Favorite lightweight DE or WM” poll soon 😉

        Thanks!
Understand that you can’t include everything – good result for Gnome 3, wasn’t it?
…been away for a bit, be looking forward to the new poll – Ben

          Hello,
yes people generally respond better to Gnome 3 probably because it looks like someone took time to design interface (something we can’t say for Unity). But Gnome 3 has it’s own awkward stuff but I guess this is what people call progress 🙂 About polls here you can access all polls, last one is about least enjoyable programming language. Also If you have an idea about interesting new voting poll questions that would be great 😉 By the way, polls on TechyTalk.info are hosted using WordPress plugin named Quick Poll I’ve been working on for a while now.
